Prenatal & Postnatal Pilates Classes
Our prenatal and postnatal pilates classes are for women in all trimesters and after birth. Pilates is an excellent way to stay fit and help women cope with their body changes during pregnancy and post birth.
We start the classes with special breathing techniques to activate the deepest core muscles, transverses abdominis and the pelvic floor to prepare for labour, help carry the baby and to aid in recovery post birth. Exercises will help manage pelvic and lower back pain and address other musculoskeletal issues you may have.
The wall mounted tower is a great apparatus for prenatal and postnatal women as most of the exercises can be done in an upright position. Stomach crunches type movement can cause abdominal separation (diastasis recti) and lying down on the back can cause affect blood flow to the baby hence doing exercises in an upright position is ideal for pre and postnatal women.
Our prenatal tower pilates/postnatal tower pilates classes are the first to be offered in Sydney’s Lower North Shore and are like the original classes available in New York.
Prenatal and postnatal group pilates classes run Fridays 7am.
